Sorry for the absence — when you work in politics, as many of our writers at The Angry Nevadan do, a government shutdown means two things: celebratory drinks, and a whole lot more work for us.
Well, the government is shut down, and we here at The Angry Nevadan are happy to report that there’s no end in sight. We don’t like the government very much, as it’s about 80% useless. For the 20% that’s actually useful, this proves that the people can take care of themselves for a while and that the government isn’t necessary. I truly believe the role of government has become to create problems just to justify its continued existence.
The only proposed “fixes” to this problem involve Spendapalooza 2025. The Democrats want to spend two trillion, and the Republicans want to spend a lesser—but still ridiculous—two trillion to reopen the government. I have an idea: spend 500 billion and attach a balanced budget bill to the measure. That will make the Democrats lose their minds and keep this shutdown going indefinitely until they agree. I, for one, am perfectly happy to see the government remain shut down, as the largely communist and deep-state pigs in D.C. don’t need any more of our money. While they get fat on taxpayer dollars and do next to nothing, real people have real problems they’ll never understand. So pardon me for not shedding a tear that federal workers aren’t getting paid.
In other news, last month Senator Rand Paul introduced a bill to fix the steaming pile of dog crap that is the Real ID Act. The original bill, passed in 2005 by a panic-stricken Congress after 9/11 and signed by NWO puppet and deep-state pig George W. Bush, is now fully enforceable. The problems with this bill don’t stop with it being a tool for the deep state and globalists to control and monitor us — it’s also a gross constitutional violation. Every NWO puppet that supported it should be arrested and prosecuted for breaking the law, but when the government breaks the law, no one holds them accountable.
Everyone asks how it violates the Constitution. Well, first off, we as Americans have the right to move about our country freely. The Supreme Court has ruled on this in over a dozen cases, affirming that freedom of movement is a fundamental right. “Freely” does not mean with the government’s permission — it means whenever and however we want. Real ID infringes upon that freedom by allowing big corporations, lobbyists, and their bought-and-paid-for senators to monitor our every move. Worse, it makes it harder for we the people to even get an ID in the first place. Some estimates show that nearly 30% of Americans don’t have a birth certificate or Social Security card, and obtaining either can be costly and time-consuming — both of which are required by most states to get a Real ID.
Critics of my stance say it’s worth an extra hoop to jump through to “keep us safe.” To them, I quote one of the greatest minds behind the founding of our country, Benjamin Franklin, who said, “Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.” The Real ID Act is also discriminatory. By requiring a Real ID to fly domestically, you disenfranchise 30% of the population who lack the economic means to obtain the necessary documents. This isn’t supposed to be the United States of the wealthy, who can afford to waste six to eight hours and lose money, sleep, or leisure time just to travel. This is supposed to be the United States of America — a free people. Yet every time we give the deep state, the communists infiltrating our government, or the RINOs an inch, they take a mile.
To clarify: I’m fine with requiring a Real ID to travel internationally. According to the Supreme Court, U.S. citizens don’t have a right to international travel, but we do have the right to move freely within our own country. I also don’t have an issue with showing an ID to fly — but a regular state ID should be sufficient. If the FBI can run a background check using my regular ID when I buy a gun, then it’s good enough to fly.
In closing, I ask all my followers to call their congressmen and senators and tell them to Stand With Rand!
